Puppy Chow (Muddy Buddies)
Creamy peanut butter and melted chocolate is a beautiful combination. Add some crunchy Chex cereal to make the easiest desert or snack. Let me tell you, this is the most addicting thing I have ever made, and it’s so easy!
When it comes to making this recipe, I highly recommend throwing in a little extra peanut butter and chocolate. Recipes are great for specifics, but when it comes to this recipe you really just can’t go wrong. Extra pb and chocolate will hurt no one. Its sweet and salty with added crunch. My mouth waters just thinking about it. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
7 cups Chex cereal
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
kosher salt (optional)
Directions:
Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together (I recommend using a double boiler).
In large bowl pour melted chocolate over Chex cereal. Mix gently to evenly incorporate chocolate and peanut butter.
Set in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Sprinke 1 cup of powdered sugar over Chex cereal and mix gently. At this point if you chose to use salt, sprinkle a large pinch over Chex and mix gently again.
Place in fridge for another 10 minutes.
Sprinkle the second cup of powdered sugar over Chex and mix again until sugar is evenly coated.
Enjoy!
*This is best stored in air tight container!
Why salt? - When salt hits your tastebuds it can actually make things that are already sweet, sweeter. By using it in this recipe it accents the savoriness of the peanut butter and in turn makes the chocolate seem even sweeter.
